UK GDPR & DPA 2018
Lawful basis, DPIA, data minimisation, and subject rights handled as architectural decisions — not a checklist bolted on before go-live.

Custom software for NHS trusts, private clinics, and GP practices. UK GDPR and Caldicott Principles from the first commit — not retrofitted before an audit.

What you get
You bring the clinical expertise. We bring the engineering — UK-grounded, Caldicott-informed, and built for the audit.
Records, appointments, and clinical workflows in one place — with proper role-based access and audit trails.
Tools that surface the right information at the right point in the workflow — without replacing clinical judgement.
Operational dashboards and population-health views that answer the questions leadership actually asks.
Secure video consultations, remote monitoring, and digital prescribing for hybrid service delivery.
How we work
Four phases, same rhythm every engagement. DPIA scoping handled in discovery so there are no mid-build surprises.
Map the clinical workflow, data flows, and compliance touchpoints. DPIA scoped where needed.
Architecture diagrams, role permission matrices, and clickable prototypes — reviewed with clinicians.
Agile delivery with NHS-context testing. Encryption at rest, TLS in transit, audit logs end to end.
Go-live with training, handover docs, and a 30-day window where fixes are free while you settle in.
Compliance map
Six frameworks we design against on every healthcare engagement — with specifics, not hand-waving.
Lawful basis, DPIA, data minimisation, and subject rights handled as architectural decisions — not a checklist bolted on before go-live.
Where a project handles NHS data, we work through the Data Security & Protection Toolkit at the project level. We do not hold organisational DSPT submission as a Byte Bridges credential.
The seven principles of patient-information handling — including "no surprises" transparency — are visible in how the software itself behaves.
Application security verification across authentication, session, access control, validation, and data protection. See our Controls Map for the specific verification items.
For clinical decision tools that touch Software as a Medical Device territory, we flag it during discovery and advise on regulatory classification before scoping the build. SaMD work requires explicit registration; we do not deliver it without that.
Public-facing patient services built to the UK Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 baseline. Our public commitment is 2.1 AA today; the 2.2 criteria are in flight.
Proof of work
Our healthcare portfolio is still being built — here's what's next in the pipeline.
Client project — NDA-covered
We're in early conversations with a UK NHS trust on a digital triage and appointment platform. Case study published once the project goes live.
Before you ask
We build to NHS DSPT posture and align with NHS digital standards, but we aren't on the Health Systems Support Framework. If you're a trust that needs an HSSF supplier specifically, we're not a fit — we'll say so upfront. For GP practices, private clinics, and commercial healthcare providers, we're well-positioned.
We'll work alongside your DPO during discovery to scope the DPIA and produce the technical sections — data flow diagrams, lawful basis mapping, retention schedules. Your DPO remains accountable for the final document and risk sign-off. If you don't have a DPO, we'll tell you that you need one before we start building.
UK region (AWS eu-west-2 London by default) unless you explicitly require another location. No third-country transfers without a contract, DPIA, and written sign-off. Data stays in the UK full stop is a reasonable and common requirement — we design for it.
Integration work depends on the vendor's API surface. EMIS, SystmOne, and most modern GP systems have workable APIs for structured data exchange. Legacy file-drop or SOAP integrations are slower but doable. We'll assess feasibility in discovery before quoting.
Healthcare regulation is a moving target. Material changes (e.g. a new NHS DSPT requirement or UK GDPR guidance update) are handled as change requests — we flag the impact, you decide whether to absorb it or adjust scope. Micro-changes we cover in the discovery retainer.
Tell us what you're working on — we'll reply within 24 hours on working days with an honest read on feasibility, compliance scope, and a realistic timeline.
